Advertising on a small budget: how to do it smart

Not every business has €10,000 a month in ad budget. And it doesn't need to. The key isn't how much you spend, but how smart you spend it. With €500-€1,000 a month you can get serious results if you make the right choices.

Start with one channel

The biggest mistake with small budgets is spreading. Splitting €500 across Meta, Google and TikTok gives you €167 per channel, too little to get through the learning phase anywhere. Pick one channel and invest in it fully. Which channel? If you sell a product people actively search for: Google Ads. If you sell a visual product people don't actively search for: Meta Ads.

Smart targeting and measuring

On a small budget every euro has to land. On Google: use exact match and phrase match keywords, not broad match. Make your location targeting as specific as possible. Use negative keywords aggressively. On Meta: start with a lookalike audience of your existing customers or email list. That's your warmest audience.

Measure everything. Not just clicks and impressions, but actual conversions. Install the Meta pixel and Google tag correctly, set up conversion actions, and look at your cost per conversion every week. If you don't measure, you throw money away.

Combining organic and paid

The most powerful strategy for small budgets is combining organic content and paid promotion. Make content that works organically (Instagram Reels, TikToks, Google Business posts) and boost the best-performing content with a small budget. That way you test for free what works and only invest in proven content.
